Simple scales better
Complexity breaks products. Simplicity makes them scalable, understandable, and easier to evolve.
Every extra layer of abstraction, configuration, or special case adds a cost that is paid again on every future change. Simple systems are not less capable — they just make that capability easier to reason about.
The discipline is in resisting complexity that solves a hypothetical problem instead of a real one.
